Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most important festivals in India. It is celebrated every year on October 8th. Diwali is a time to celebrate the return of the sun after being hidden for months during the winter season. It is also a time to honor the Hindu gods and goddesses.

What Is Diwali For?
Diwali is celebrated for many reasons. Some people celebrate it to mark the end of winter and the arrival of spring. Others celebrate it to honor Hindu gods and goddesses. Still, others celebrate it to celebrate family and friends.

This Diwali marks the first for Jonas and Chopra’s daughter, whose surrogate birth the couple announced in January via social media.

Why is the couple keeping their daughter’s name and face a secret?
It has to do with the belief in preventing any evil eye or jealousy from affecting their daughter. Tradition says that a newborn child should be kept isolated for the first year of her/his life, only close family are allowed to be around. This is just to prevent the bad eye of others from attacking the child’s health and growth until such an age where she is not so much affected by others, thoughts, magics, or curses.
